Registered Nurse- exploration camp

1984 Enterprises Inc. is a leader in the field of Occupational Health & Safety—delivering innovative safety solutions to exploration and mining camps throughout Northern Canada and around the globe. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to work in remote mining exploration camps for our Nunavut locations.

Key Responsibilities:

•Attend to all first aid, medical needs and assist with medical evacuations as required.
•Liaise with sponsoring clinic or approved Doctor.
•Dispense and maintain inventory control of narcotics
•Maintenance and inventory control of first aid room.
•Administer online medical support processes.
•Management of all personnel information in compliance with PIPEDA.
•Management of regulatory forms and first aid reporting including dispatch of medical forms to head office.
•Orientation of First aid to site staff.


Requirements include:

•Demonstrated clinical experience within a recognized medical institution, government facility or program.
•Strong management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
•Registration with applicable provincial Nursing Association.
•Good problem solving skills with the ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
•Experience with suturing.
•Highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
•Proven ability to manage emergency medical process and follow specific instructions.
•Remote location experience preferred.

Successful candidates will be service and team-oriented individuals with keen observation skills.
