| Production Assistant Description Here's your chance to work in a stimulating production environment ! Corby Studios is a fun independent production house. We create projects which range from TV programs, documentaries, to commercials. We are currently looking for PA's to assist with various productions and a producer for production preparations, logistical and administrative functions. Responsibilities: - Initiate contact, set up appointments or interviews with parties involved; - Plan interviews and production schedules; - Book artists and performers, catering, accommodation, equipment and flights for performers and crew; - Check copywriter and permission issues and ensure royalties are paid for additional images, music or footage; - Call many parties to gather relevant information needed for the production; - Compile intensive research on locations, background information, interviewee etc; - Liaison with writers, artists' agents, members of the public and publicity staff; - Draft scripts and research materials; - Assist in set up of cameras, lighting and props; - Shop for craft, props and other supplies, submitting accurate expense reports; - Be involved with the pitch meetings by keeping up to date on current events; - Perform general clerical duties as required; - Production assistance - in office or on field; - Conduct research and paperwork reports on all the above tasks. Qualifications - Professional college degree; - Minimum 3 years of experience in television production; - Good knowledge of all aspects of television production and the performing arts; - Strong knowledge of pop culture and entertainment; - Knowledge of cameras and editing programs; Final Cut Pro knowledge is an asset; - Strong organization, ability to prioritize, and solid interpersonal skills; - Ability to work on tight deadlines, work on flexible hours, and weekend shifts; - Willingness to undertake challenging work that does not conform to regular schedules; - Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining goals and an attention to detail - Fluent in English; Cantonese and Mandarin are an asset - Valid driver’s license would be an asset Candidates may be subject to skills testing.
