Sample Prep Technician

General Labour - Sample Preparation Technician

Location: Yellowknife, NWT Lab

Reports to: Manager, Sample Preparation

General Accountabilities:
As a General Labourer within the Sample Preparation department, you will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

Specific Responsibilities
• Crushing and preparation of geological samples for analysis;
• Working with light industrial equipment;
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications
• Good communication and hand coordination skills are required;
• Basic use of the English language;
• Good organizational skills;
• Flexible schedule;
• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment.

Physical Demands:
• Require some lifting of up to 50 pounds;
• Environment can be dusty and warm;
• Be cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment.


This position requires employees to wear personal safety equipment at all times due to noise and dust.
